Knobly Consulting LLP · Bengaluru · since 2012
Knobly takes up turnkey projects that solve business problems — a marketing machine for a B-school, a practitioner community for a global professional body, a quarterly print journal, an enterprise brain built from a company's own documents, a PMO for a 300-branch network. Software when the problem needs software. A field team when it needs feet on the ground.
We stand for business outcomes — and we stay until they're running.
How we work
Strategy consultancies hand you a recommendation. Vendors hand you software. We take responsibility for the outcome — which is why our engagements don't end at the handover.
The problem, its numbers, and a blueprint your board can hold us to. Market maps, data audits, operating cadence — the strategy muscle, pointed at execution.where strategy firms stop
The system that produces the outcome — org, process, software, hardware, content, or all five. We design what the problem needs, not what we happen to sell.
A small senior team, embedded with yours, moving at unreasonable speed — with an AI workforce underneath it and fourteen years of instruments to draw on.where vendors stop
We operate what we build: the portal, the PMO, the campaign, the platform — measured, audited, on-call. And when you're ready, we transfer the keys and train your team to hold them.where almost nobody stands
Outcomes are audited, not admired: our review bench carries Six Sigma, LEAN, and ISO credentials, and every program runs to a scoreboard agreed on day one.
Offers
Your company's knowledge — files, Tally, ERP, mail, archives, in English and Indian languages — made queryable, with fine-tuned models where your domain demands and AI skills that draft, answer, and flag. Starts with a fixed-fee two-week pilot on a slice of your own documents; stays honest under our managed audit, quarter after quarter.
You keep: institutional memory that answers.
One accountable team from problem statement to running operation — whether the answer is a platform, a publication, a field force, or all three.
You keep: the outcome, not a report about it.
We build and run the management office your program deserves: operating cadence, stakeholder onboarding, scoreboards, and the discipline of follow-through.
You keep: a program that doesn't slip.
An adoption policy your board can sign, engineers embedded in your team to automate the work — machines make, your people check — and hands-on training, from public workshops to enterprise programs.
You keep: control — and a team that builds with AI.
Provenance · 2018
The relaunched Knobly's first project was a semi-automated report-generation system for a market research firm. We called it RAG.
The 2018 pipeline, as we shipped it. Two years later the industry coined an acronym for the same shape: retrieval-augmented generation. Our neural classifier and generator were next on the roadmap when COVID hit. The system is still live. The industry caught up; we kept building — which is why the enterprise-brains offer isn't a pivot. It's a homecoming.
Work
Notice how few of these are "a software project." That's the point.
We're building the program-management office that runs their outreach model and onboards every stakeholder — platform, process, and cadence together.
The firm's largest program to date.We built the machine and the team: city to city, presenting the institute and its MBA to applicants, and working the admissions process end to end for the 2026 intake.
Strategy, field force, CRM and website — one engagement. We developed and operated a project-management portal for a global professional body, and helped build a community of certified and aspiring practitioners — most from non-IT backgrounds.
Running a community is an operation, not a campaign. From identifying cost-effective hardware sources to integrating the cards with software — and the system is still monitored by us, at the institution's premises.
Hardware, software, and procurement in one scope.Planned, designed, and launched — masthead to mailing list — with the content operation now running as a managed service on our stack.
Print is an outcome too.The academy's flagship journal — publishing since the 1930s — moved onto Open Journal Systems and wired to a modern, reader-facing front end: submission to publication, one pipeline.
Live, public, and in daily use.We trained the internal content-marketing teams of three of India's most recognised brands — and then got out of the way.
Their teams still do it in-house. That was the point.Support tickets flow through AskBru, our AI desk. Maya reads the day's business news and matches opportunities to the team. Partners review; the operation runs.
The demo is the firm itself. The register
That we use AI heavily in our own operations is a different fact from what we sell — but it's a fact you can inspect. An execution firm with an uptime ledger:

| AskBru | AI support desk resolving live tickets | matsyaai.com/askbru | ● running |

The Lab
"The Lab isn't a product — it's the floor the products stand on."
A hand-built nano-datacenter: consumer GPUs pooled with Ray, tunneled over our own network, serving a public blog, a chat app, and an inference API. It's why we can say yes when a client asks for AI that never leaves their building.
Recent notes: RAG systems · GPU clustering · network tunneling · node discovery
Instruments
Patterns that kept recurring across engagements hardened into instruments we deploy: Matsya (the business platform), FinShield (cash control), Accompli (compliance on Tally rails), Xpress (email at scale), Cream with Maya (content operations — knoblycream.com), and SafeSight (computer vision at the edge). If your problem matches an instrument, you don't pay for a build — we wire it in and get on with the outcome.
About
Content strategy and publishing for global electronics, networking, e-commerce and IT-services majors, business television, and professional bodies.
Founder sells the company — then buys back the rights, IP, and team. Relaunched as Knobly Consulting LLP, clients intact.
The firm rebuilds its own operations AI-first: own agents, own instruments, own GPUs — before asking any client to.
The firm's largest program to date signed. Plan, design, build, run — as one accountable team.
Formerly Business Editor, The Times of India; Consulting Editor, Bloomberg TV. Building for the online medium since 1996.
Formerly Researcher at Rallis India, a Tata company. Designated partner; leads HR and Culture — the people side of a firm where humans and AI work the same bench.
Behind the partners: a sixteen-person bench of staff and specialist contractors — carrying Six Sigma, LEAN, and ISO credentials for audits — organised under a formal partner model, plus an AI workforce that genuinely does production work.
"In McKinsey, the base of the pyramid is junior analysts. Our pyramid's base is AI."
